Funeral services for Lowell Mann age 83 of Columbus will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus.

Lowell died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Lowell Arthur Mann was born February 26, 1929 on a farm southwest of Wayne, Nebraska to Arthur C. and Ida Marie (Schmitz) Mann. He attended rural school and graduated from Wayne High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from October 27, 1950 August 16, 1952 He was wounded twice while serving in Japan and Korea. Lowell was awarded two Purple Hearts, Silver Star, Army Occupation Medal, Over Seas Bar and the Combat Infantry Badge. On January 11, 1953 he was united in marriage to Lorraine J. Nickols. The couple farmed until moving to Fremont in 1965. In March of 1967 they moved to Columbus. Lowell worked at D&L, managed the Derby Station for 5 years and Columbus Hydraulics for 15 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, V.F.W. #3704 and Hartman Post #84 American Legion. He enjoyed camping, fishing, Nebraska football and going to his granddaughter Caitlynns soccer games. .

Nephew: Mark Mann of Mountain Home, ID
Niece: Lynn Holms of Mountain Home, ID

He was preceded in death by:
