James Kirkpatrick 75, of Laurel.  died Wednesday, Aug. 29th at Providence Medical in Wayne.
Survivors include his wife Jackie of Laurel, two children and seven stepchildren.

Thompson Chapel Funeral Home in Wakefield, NE. is in charge of the arrangements 402-287-2633

Funeral Services will be at 1pm on Saturday, September 1st, at United Presbyterian Church in Laurel.

Millitary rites will be presented by the Laurel Post .Visitation at the church will begin at 10, a.m. that morning. Memorials may be directed to the Laurel Senior Center, the United Presbyterian Church of Laurel or to the family.

James, preferably called Jim, was born November 19, 1936 to parents Dale D, and Inez Caswell, Kirkpatrick at Ainsworth, Nebraska and lived there until he graduated from high school in 1954.  He attended Doane College at Crete, NE.  for one year.  He then joined the Air Force, serving his country until his twenty year retirement.  Jim was stationed in California, Germany, Thailand, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.   He then worked for Burroughs, Unisys, and Gateway.
In 1962, Jim married Lissi Guide in Germany. To this union were born three children; James, Susan, and Sonya. Lissi is deceased.
In 1981, he married Jacqueline Miller Allvin at Norfolk, Nebraska.  They lived at Norfolk, Sioux City, IA, Sioux Falls, SD; traveled three years in the US; had a home in Coolidge, AZ and lastly, resided in Laurel, NE.
Jim was a loving, kind, humorous, boyish, and special husband , father, grandfather, and great-grandfather with 31 years of sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie, son James and Donna Kirkpatrick of Arlington, TX,  daughter Susan and Jimmy Pogue of Bossier City, LA,  and stepchildren;   Joann and Bob Heckman of Plattsmouth, NE,  Jim and Dianne Allvin of Carroll, NE , Jeralyn and Dan Gueven of Bolling Green, KY, Jody and Ken Faith of Weaubleau, MO, Joe and Jill Allvin of Wakefield, NE, Julie Gershon and friend Bob Larsen of Osmond, NE, Jill and Jeff Church of Knoxville, TN,  31 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
Jim is preceded in death by parents, one daughter Sonya, Step-daughter Jeanette Allvin,  grandsons, Josh Gershon, ad Keith Faith, son-in-law Philip Gershon and two great-grandchildren.
