Surprise Vehicle Inspection Hands Out Over $3,000 In Fines

SOUTH SIOUX CITY - The Nebraska State Patrolconducted surprise commercial vehicle inspections yesterday in South Sioux City.
The surprise inspections target commercial vehicles that might not travel outside the city or pass through weigh stations as part of their regular routes. During the special enforcement effort, the Metropolitan Aggressive and Prevention Selective Teams conducted 33 inspections, discovered 129 violations, and took 18 vehicles out of service. In addition, four drivers were taken out of service (not allowed to continue driving) for No Operator’s License (2), No Commercial Driver’s License (2). Officers issued a total of $ 3,150 in fines.
