LINCOLN (AP) – The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality has awarded nearly $1.7 million in grants for waste reduction and recycling projects.
The grant money is generated by fees from landfill disposals, annual retail business sales and tire sales. The department announced in May that it was awarding nearly $1.9 million in grants for tire-recycling projects. The grants went to local solid waste agencies, service groups, and Nebraska cities and villages. The full list is posted on the department’s website.
