Lual And Lippman Pace WSC Men's And Women's XC Teams

WAYNE - Skyler Lippman and Garang Lual were top Wayne State runners as the Wildcat men placed second and the women third Saturday at theDakota Wesleyan Cross Country Invitational held at Wild Oak Golf Course in Mitchell, South Dakota.  Teams competing in the meet included host Dakota Wesleyan, Iowa Lakes Community College, Midland University, Mount Marty and Wayne State College.
            In the men’s division, Mount Marty captured the team title with 27 points followed by Wayne State in second with 63 points, Midland University third at 66 and Dakota Wesleyan fourth with 72 points.  Individually for WSC, junior Garang Lual placed second with a time of 26:38 on the 8,000 meter course.  Junior Greg Tracy was closed behind in fourth at 27:16.  Other WSC finishers included Misael Azpeitia in 16th place at 29:16, Nathan Boggess 20th (30:01) and Jared Meister 28th (33:26).
            Mount Marty also captured the women’s title with 37 points and Midland University second at 48.  Wayne State was third with 67 points while Dakota Wesleyan (87) and Iowa Lakes Community College (110) rounded out the women’s team scoring.
            Individually for WSC, Pierce junior Skyler Lippman was the top Wildcat finisher with a time of 20:12 on the 5,000 meter course.  Freshman Molly Kingsley was next at 20:53 with Makael Lanum and Elizabeth Holmes finishing in 15th and 16th place with times of 21:10 and 21:13 respectively.  Other WSC runners included Laura Camacho (19th-21:37), Natasha Jensen (23rd-22:30) and Amber Hurlbert (30th-23:36).
            Wayne State will be in action again next Saturday when the Wildcats compete in the Briar Cliff Invitational at the Adams Nature Preserve in McCook Lake, South Dakota.
