WHS Marching Band In Need Of Adult Bus Sponsors

The Wayne High marching band is in need of adult bus sponsors for the Pierce marching contest on Saturday. If the band doesn't receive enough sponsors, they will not be able to attend. If you are willing to volunteer to be an adult bus sponsor for this trip to Pierce this Saturday please call Brad Weber at the high school. Your time, effort and support will greatly be appreciated.

Listed below is the itinerary for the Pierce Marching Band Contest.

Pierce Marching Band Contest
Saturday, October 6, 2012
PierceHigh SchoolFootball Stadium – 201 N. Sunset Street – Pierce, NE
 
1:15pm – Arrive at Wayne High School and finish loading.  You are responsible for loading and unloading the instrument you  play.
                FLUTES, PICCS, CLARINETS AND HAT BAGS GO ON THE BUSES WITH YOU.  ALL OTHER
INSTRUMENTS WILL BE LOADED ONTO THE “WHITE TRAILER”.  YOU MUST COME DRESSED IN
YOUR CMMPLETE MARCHING BAND UNIFORM!!!
 
1:30pm – SPONSORS TAKE ROLL.  Depart for Pierce.
 
2:10pm – Arrive at Pierce High School
SPONSORS: PLEASE CHECK ALL BANDMEMBERS AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE PROPERLY DRESSED IN THEIR UNIFORMS.
 
2:30pm – Meet at the equipment trucks and get your instruments ready.  ABSOLUTELY NO PLAYING OF YOUR
                INSTRUMENTS OR NOISE OF ANY KIND AT THIS TIME OR WE WILL BE DISUALIFIED FROM THE
                CONTEST!!!
 
2:45pm – Assemble into the FIELD ENTRY LINES.  NO PLAYING OF YOUR INSTRUMENTS OR NOISE OF ANY KIND
                AT THIS TIME.
 
3:00pm – Leave for the warm-up area.  NO PLAYING OF YOUR INSTRUMENTS OR NOISE OF ANY KIND AT THIS TIME
                OR WE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE CONTEST!!
 
3:15pm – WARM-UP TIME.  Be very quiet and listen for instructions.  You may play your instruments now.
 
3:30pm – Move to the Assembly Area.  NO PLAYING OF YOUR INSTRUMENTS OR NOISE OF ANY KIND!!!
 
3:35pm – Assembly Area.  We are waiting in our Field Entry Lines on the south end of the track as the band ahead of us is performing
                ABSOLUTELY NO PLAYING OF YOUR INSTRUMENTS OR NOISE OF ANY KIND AT THIS TIME OR WE
                WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE CONTEST!!
 
3:45pm – Enter the field in our Field Entry Lines and get set for the performance.  ONCE YOU ARE SET, STAY AT ATTENTION!!
                NO MOVEMENT!!!  Then it is PERFORMANCE TIME!!
 
3:57pm – Performance is over, leave the field to your LEFT, ( 1 long whistle, 4 short whistles, STL or back-up 4 steps to 4 drum
                clicks and march off the field to the snare drum taps, take larger steps, move and stay in step).
                DRUMLINE – after you leave the field stay at the southwest corner of the stadium.  Put your drums down on the ground and
                wait for further instructions concerning the Drumline Exhibition.
                MALLETS & PIT PERCUSSION – move the equipment onto the track up against the stadium and wait for further
                instructions concerning the Drumline Exhibition.
 
4:15pm – Return to the stadium and listen to the DRUMLINE EXHIBATION featuring the Wayne High Drumline.
 
4:30pm (apprx.) – AWARDS PRESENTATION
 
4:50pm(apprx.) – Return to the buses and load the instruments onto the equipment truck and trailer.
 
5:15pm(apprx.) – Sponsors take roll.
 
5:25pm(apprx.) – Depart for Wayne.
 
6:10pm(apprx.) – Arrive back at Wayne High School, unload the buses, blue truck, van and white trailer.
