Wayne High Volleyball Goes 0-2 At Triangular

WAYNE (KTCH/KCTY) - The Wayne High School volleyball team hosted a triangular with Pierce and Boone Central/Newman Grove last night. Against Pierce, Wayne was bested in three sets 25-22, 20-25 and 19-25. Sarah Maxson led the hitting attack with 11 kills. Emma Evetovitch handed out 12 set assists, along with 10 from Sydney McCorkindale. Meagan Backer had 18 digs, along with 17 from Sydney Burke and 12 from Jessica Bierman. Against Boone Central/Newman Grove, the Blue Devils fell in three sets 23-25, 25-23 and 19-25. Madison Frevert led Wayne hitters with 10 kills. Evetovitch had 14 and 13 kills, respectively. Backer tallied 21 digs along with a dozen from Burke. The Blue Devils are now 13-10 on the season.
