WAYNE - A date for the special election regarding District #1 Wayne County Commissioner Kelvin Wurdeman has been set.
The question will be placed before the voters on November 20. Under normal circumstances, the special election would’ve been placed on the ballot for the Nov. 6 elections; however the signatures on the recall petition against Wurdeman were unable to be verified in time. The recall petition was originally started by Kelly Hammer, and stemmed from an incident involving the alleged improper removal of property by Wurdeman from a landowner. Wurdeman will also appear in court on Nov. 5 to face sentencing after pleading no contest to charges of official misconduct and theft by unlawful taking.
