Wayne School Board Holds Regular Meeting

WAYNE (KTCH/KCTY) - The Wayne School Board met at their regular meeting last night. Items on the agenda included the recommendation and approval of Micky Rutenbeck as the full time technology director, as well as a special thank you to Carlson West Povondra Architects for the mural (portion pictured above) at the Jr./Sr. High School.
Also approved was the quote of phase 1 for the lighting project in the school theater. Phase 1 of the project is quoted at $24,017 by Heartland Scenic Studio, Inc. out of Omaha. During the meeting, Superintendant Mark Lenihan gave a report over the current enrollment at Wayne Community Schools, saying that it has remained fairly even, down only six students from last year. Lenihan noted that 70 students graduated, while 55 kindergartners were brought in. The next regular meeting for the Wayne Community Schools board is November 12.
