LYONS - Lyons-Decatur Northeast Schools in Burt County has been selected as a $10,000 winner in the Monsanto Fund’s America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education. The program gives farmers the opportunity to nominate their public school district to apply for a $10,000 or $25,000 merit-based grant to enhance math and science education. After a three tier grant review process, Lyons-Decatur Northeast Schools was selected as one of 9 winners in Nebraska. In Nebraska, a total of $120,000 is being invested in rural education.
