WSC Volleyball Up To #16 In Nation

WAYNE - Wayne State College moved up two spots to 16th in this week’s American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll released Monday afternoon.  The Wildcats, 19-7 overall and 11-5 in league play, received 325 points in voting conducted by various Division II head coaches from across the country.
The Wildcats went 1-1 last week, defeating #14 Minnesota State Saturday afternoon by a score of 3-0 while losing to #2 Concordia St.-Paul on Friday night by a score of 3-0. Wayne State has two matches this week starting with a home contest Thursday evening against #1 Southwest Minnesota State at 7 p.m. The Wildcats then travel to the University of Sioux Falls Saturday afternoon (2 p.m.). This week’s match will mark the second time this season the Wildcats have hosted the #1 team in the nation. Earlier this season, WSC beat #1 University of Nebraska-Kearney 3-1 in Wayne on October 10th.
