SIOUX CITY, IA - Red Cross volunteers from the Siouxland area of Nebraska and Iowa are headed to the East Coast in the aftermath of the so-called superstorm Sandy.
Chapter spokesman Tammie Pech in Sioux City says they've already sent five emergency response vehicles east. She says the Red Cross members will be scattered all over the eastern part of the country. Pech says the best way for Nebraskans to help those in the disaster area is to give financially and to donate blood. More than 300 Red Cross bloodmobiles in New England and the Mid Atlantic States have been cancelled because of the storm.
