WISNER (KTCH/KCTY) - The Wayne High volleyball team ended their season with a piece of hardware last night. The Blue Devils fell to Norfolk Catholic in three sets in the Class C1, District 4 championship in Wisner, earning runner-up honors.

Scores of the match were 26-24, 25-13 and 25-14 in favor of the knights. For Wayne, Sydney Burke led all hitter with five kills, along with four from Lexi Sokol and Madison Frevert. Sydney McCorkindale and Emma Evetovitch each handed out nine set assists, while Jessica Biermann and Meagan Backer tallied 16 digs each. Evetovitch and Backer also had two ace serves. The Blue Devils end their season at 16-16 overall.
