Republicans Hold Majority In Nebraska Legislature

LINCOLN (AP) - Republicans will again hold a majority in Nebraska's unique, single-chamber Legislature. GOP lawmakers crossed the 25-seat threshold on Tuesday, ensuring they'll control the 49-seat senate. Though the Nebraska Legislature is officially nonpartisan, votes on hot-button issues such as tax policy and the death penalty often fall along party lines. The election was the first since lawmakers approved new political districts.
