WSC Men's Basketball Downs Morningside In Exhibition

WAYNE - Five players scored in double figures as Wayne State College recorded a 78-57 men’s basketball exhibition win Tuesday evening over Morningside College at Rice Auditorium in Wayne.
Senior forward Derrell Williams notched a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Ryan Rolfzen added 15 points off the bench draining 5 of 7 from the three point line followed by Amry Shelby with 14 points, Ayron Worthington 13 and LaTroy Wright 10. The Wildcats shot 28 of 54 from the field for 51.9 percent, making 7 of 17 behind the three point line and 15 of 24 from the charity stripe. WSC outrebounded Morningside 40-30 thanks to 12 from Williams and six by Worthington. Wayne State opens the regular season this weekend at the Southwest Baptist Tournament in Bolivar, Missouri. The Wildcats face host Southwest Baptist Friday evening at 8 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. matchup Saturday against Lincoln University of Missouri.
