Wurdeman Appears In District Court For Recall Hearing
Posted: 14 November, 2012
WAYNE (KTCH/KCTY) - District 1 Wayne County Commissioner Kelvin Wurdeman was in Wayne County District Court yesterday morning, November 13 regarding an injunction he’s filing to try and stop a recall election against him.
Wurdeman has sued Wayne County Clerk and Election Commissioner Deb Finn over signed petitions she accepted that were originally circulated by Kelly Hammer. Hammer gained enough signatures to force the recall election, which will take place Nov. 20, but Wurdeman’s lawsuit raises questions about the dialogue of the petitions. Specifically the date set by the County Commissioners, volunteer petition circulators compare to paid circulators and whether or not potential signers of the petition read the information prior to signing.
