WSC Rugby Women Have a Chance to Play for a National Championship

WAYNE - The Wayne State women’s rugby team will be heading to the Rugby National Semi-Finals/National Championship this Saturday and Sunday. WSC will play in the national semi-final on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 11:15 a.m. in Cherry Hill, N.J. WSC will face Wheaton State of Massachusetts. The Wildcat rugby women have a record of 15-1 heading into this national semi-final

game. The team's 15-game win streak after a loss to the Kansas University included victories over Oklahoma, Kansas State, Northwestern and Notre Dame. With a win, WSC will play in the national championship game on Sunday Nov. 18 at noon. WSC rugby women have been to the Elite 8 national quarter finals four times, but have never advanced to the Final Four of the national semi-finals until this year.

BIG RED COUNTRY 104.9 will carry the semi-final game on Saturday against Wheaton State of Massachusetts starting at approximately 11:15 a.m. BIG RED COUNTRY 104.9 will also be carrying the National Championship game on Sunday at noon if the Wildcat Women win on Saturday. The games will also be streamed online at www.waynedailynews.com.
