WSC\'s Amry Shelby Named NSIC Player Of The Week

WAYNE - Senior guard Amry Shelby (Marion, Iowa) of Wayne State College was selected as the Northern Sun Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Tuesday morning announced by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota. It marks the first time this season that Shelby has won the honor.
Shelby scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Wildcat men in a 78-59 win over in-state rival Nebraska-Kearney last Thursday evening at Rice Auditorium in Wayne. Shelby scored 19 of his points in the first half and finished the game 7 of 14 from the field and a perfect 8 for 8 at the free throw line. After three games, Shelby leads the NSIC in scoring averaging 24.3 points per game and is shooting 54.8 percent from the field and 95 percent (19 of 20) at the free throw line.
Wayne State is now 3-0 on the season and will face Peru State (3-3 overall) at Rice Auditorium this Saturday evening (November 24th) with tipoff set for 6:00 p.m.
