WSC's Hobbs Named To AVCA All-Central Region Team

WAYNE - Cori Hobbs of Wayne State College was named to the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) All-Central Region Volleyball Team announced late Wednesday afternoon. The Central Region consists of teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and the Great American Conference.

            Hobbs, a 6-0 junior outside hitter from Battle Creek, Nebraska (Battle Creek HS), averaged 3.25 kills and 3.15 digs per set this season for the 22-9 Wildcats and was selected Second Team All-Northern Sun Conference.  She finished the season with 16 double-doubles and had five straight double-doubles to end the regular season, highlighted by 20 kills and 14 digs in a 3-1 win at Upper Iowa on November 9th.  Hobbs also had 18 kills and 20 digs in a 3-1 win over then #1 Nebraska-Kearney on October 10th. 
           
            Wayne State College was selected for the NCAA Division II National Tournament for an eighth straight season and the 16th-ranked Wildcats meet #1 Concordia-St. Paul Thursday (November 29) at 7:30 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Central Regional in St. Paul, Minnesota.
