Make sure to register your dogs and cats if you live in the City of Wayne during the month of May. Registration fees during this period will be $6.00 per dog or cat and licenses can be obtained at the Wayne Police Department. More information can be found under the Community Events tab.

WAYNE (KTCH/KCTY) – In community events today, Wayne State College is hosting a Blood Drive from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm in the Bloodmobile at the WSC Student Center. The Wayne Optimist Club is having a soup and dessert supper in conjunction with Christmas on Main from 5:00-7:00 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Cost: $5 ($3 Children 10 & under) Includes: Soups - Chili, Vegetable, Potato, Chicken Noodle. Sides - Relishes, Desserts, Drinks. Wayne's Christmas on Main Street event kicks off today. At 6:00 pm will be the lighting of the Christmas tree and downtown lights. Nostalgic candle light caroling ceremony with sheet music and candles provided at 3rd and Main Street. Enjoy a Parade of Lights at 6:30 from 6th and Main to 1st and Main. From 7:00-8:00 pm will be a Downtown Main Street open house. A Fantasy Forest will be set up throughout downtown Wayne in various storefronts. Trees are decorated by organizations, groups and businesses. A drawing for prizes will be held at the end of the evening for those who complete their Fantasy Forest card by 8:00 pm. Cards are available at participating businesses on Main Street. It is also double stamps all day.
