Posted: 01 December, 2012

WAYNE (KTCH/KCTY) – Three car accidents took place in Wayne County Firday through Saturday morning. The first was a one vehicle accident one mile south of Winside Friday morning. The driver, Keegan Dorcey was treated for minor injuries at Providence Medical Center and released. A passenger, Morgan Benck, was flown to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City for treatment of severe injuries. Other occupants did not seek medical attention. It is believed that alcohol and nonuse of seat blets contributed to the accident and the resulting injuries.  The accident remains under investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and the Wayne Police Department.
The second accident was reported at around 10:00 Friday night south of Wayne. The driver of the wrecked car was later located at a home in Wayne and was taken to the hospital. No other information on this accident is currently available.

The third accident took place at around 12:25 Saturday morning. According to the Nebraska State Patrol, 41-year-old Calvin Gunter of Tilden was driving a 1995 Ford Escort two and a half miles north of Wayne on Highway 15 with two passengers, 26-year-old Lyle Hackney and  24-year-old Michael Schilousky both of Laurel. The NSP says the car left the road, overcorrected and then rolled. Schilousky was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Gunter and Hackney were taken to Providence Medical Center in Wayne with non-life threatening injuries. The NSP said that no seatbelts were used.
