WAYNE - A one-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 35 about five and a half miles east of Wayne last night sent three people to the hospital.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, at about 6:30 last night, an eastbound SUV driven by Steve Emmons of Emerson lost a wheel from the rear of the vehicle after it had become loose. That caused the vehicle to lose control and veer off the road. The vehicle then rolled onto its side in the north ditch. The driver and two passengers, Judith and Spencer Emmons were taken to Providence Medical Center by Wakefield Rescue Unit where they were treated for their injuries and released. Seat belt use is unknown at this time. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Wakefield Fire and Rescue Units.
