Wakefield Girls And Boys Victorious Over Winside

WAKEFIELD (KTCH/KCTY) - Northeast Nebraska high school basketball was on Big Red Country 104.9 last night, as Wakefield hosted Winside in a girls’ and boys’ varsity doubleheader. The girls’ game was dominated by the Trojans, who took a 29- 16 lead into halftime. Wakefield wouldn’t let up, as they went on to win 54-26. Lead the way for Wakefield with a stellar night was Lauren Lemkuhl who finished with 31 points, and was the only Trojan in double figures. Mallory Stubbs was the lone player in double digits for the Wildcats with 10 points. Wakefield moves to 7-6 on the year with the win, while Winside falls to 2-12.
The boys’ game wasn’t much different, as Wakefield cruised to a 42-13 halftime lead, and would eventually win the game 74-33. The Trojans had three players score in double digits. Leading the way was Luis Brambilla with 14 points, followed by Jacob Lunz with 11 and Anthony Gustafson with 10 points. Brock Carlson led the scoring for the Wildcats with 10 points. Wakefield is now 9-4 on the year with the win, while Winside is now 0-13.
