Bellevue Doctor Admits To Relationship With Lt. Gov. Sheehy

Posted: 04 February, 2013

LINCOLN (AP) - A Bellevue emergency room doctor says she had a long-term relationship with Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy, who resigned Saturday as news broke of his relationships with other women. Sheehy, a Republican, resigned after questions were raised about improper cellphone calls to four women, none of which were his wife, during the past four years. The story was first reported by the Omaha World-Herald. The Bellevue doctor, Theresa Hatcher, told The Associated Press on Saturday that she and Sheehy met during a meeting of emergency responders in 2008. Sheehy leads the state's emergency management efforts. Hatcher says she thought she "was the only one." Records released Saturday by the governor's office show Sheehy made thousands of late-night phone calls to Hatcher and three other women on his state-issued cellphone.
