Wayne High Boys End Regular Season With Win Over Pierce

PIERCE (KTCH/KCTY) - The Wayne High boys’ basketball team closed out the 2012/2013 regular season on the road Friday night, competing at Pierce High School. Wayne led the entire game, though Pierce did threaten several times throughout both halves. The Blue Devils were up 34-27 at halftime, but both teams had a dismal start to the second half, scoring just seven points each in the third quarter. Wayne responded in the fourth, scoring Pierce 14-11, as they went on to win 55-45. Pierce’s Lane Rohrich led all scorers with 20 points, and was followed by Eddie Francois with 14 points. The Blue Devils boasted three individuals in double digits, as Jalen Barry had 16 points, Jared Anderson had 12 and Ben Hoskins added 10 points. With the win, the Blue Devil boys close out the regular season at 20-4 overall, while Pierce is now 10-12.
