Three-Car Accident Near Pilger Sends Two To Hospital

PILGER - A three-car accident northeast of Pilger Saturday night that sent two people to the hospital is being investigated by the Stanton County Sherriff’s Office.
According to Sherriff Mike Unger, the accident took place at around 8:00 pm at the north junction of Highways 275 and 15, when a car driven by 53-year-old Rose Duncan of Newcastle, turned into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by 42-year-old Preciosa Polt of Pierce. The collision caused Polt’s vehicle to hit a third vehicle stopped at the intersection. Both Polt and Duncan had to be extricated from the wreckage of their vehicles by Pilger Fire and Rescue, and both were taken to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. Unger says both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
