WSC Women's Track Team Rated 10th In Nation

WAYNE - The Wayne State College women’s outdoor track and field team moved up to 10th in the latest USTFCCCA (U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) NCAA Division II National Team Computer rankings released Tuesday afternoon.
The Wildcats received 87.24 points in the national rankings that are compiled using performance data from both the current 2013 outdoor season and the 2012 outdoor season. WSC is the only NSIC team in the national rankings this week.
The Wildcat women have four athletes ranked in the top 10 nationally in three events. Junior Carly Fehringer is 1st in the hammer throw (206-11) and 9th in the shot put (47-9¼), senior Lachel Milander is 3rd in the hammer (200-11, sophomore Sara Wells is 3rd in the shot put (49-7) and 10th in the discus (156-3) while junior Emily Wells is 8th in the hammer throw (180-7).
Wayne State will compete in the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite on Saturday.
