Bancroft Man Arrested In Norfolk For DUI and MIP

NORFOLK - A Bancroft man was arrested for DUI first offense and Minor in Possession of Alcohol Friday night in Norfolk. According to Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer, at about 9:26 P.M., a Norfolk Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was driving without its headlights on Benjamin Avenue. As the officer approached the car he observed unopened bottles of beer in the back seat. The driver was identified as 19-year-old Clay T Konicek of Bancroft. The officer also detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from within the vehicle and Konicek was requested to perform field sobriety maneuvers and a preliminary breath test. He was housed at the Norfolk City Jail and later released in cash bond.
