Funeral services for Arnold Junck age 94 of the Carroll and Wayne Communities will be held at Our Savior

Lutheran Church in Wayne on Friday at 10:30 a.m.  Visitation will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne on Thursday with family present 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. He passed away Sunday at CareAge Campus Of Care in Wayne. Interment with Military Rites at Elmwood Cemetery in Carroll, Nebraska. Memorials in care of  the Junck Family for a later designation. Arrangements with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

     Arnold A. Junck was born July 20, 1919, at Wayne, to Charles and Regina (Dorman) Junck.  He attended school at Wayne Prep, country schools, and Carroll High School.  He enlisted in the Army Air Force 12/28/1941, and after fighting in 7 battles, including the Battle of the Bulge, he was discharged 10/20/1945.  Arnold married Ivy Hesemann following World War II, February 1, 1946, at Redeemer Lutheran Church Parsonage in Wayne.  They farmed in the Carroll Community until 1977, semi retired and moved to the Village of Carroll. In 1954, the couple transferred to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, in Carroll where Arnold served as Elder and Treasurer of the church for many years.  Arnold enjoyed Saddle Club, picnics, fishing trips, square dancing, and chartered bus trips.  He belonged to the Carroll American Legion Post #165 and served on the Village of Carroll Board beginning in 1977, and as mayor from 1982-1987.
    Arnold is survived by his wife, Ivy; their children, Kathy (Chuck) Rutenbeck of Wayne, Dennis (Nancy) Junck of Carroll, and Jerry (Sharon) Junck of Wayne; 9 grandchildren and spouses; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris (Dale) Claussen of Carroll, Janice (Paul) Brader of Norfolk; brother,  Charlie (Lila) Junck of Randolph; sisters-in-law, Eveline Thompson of Wayne, Fern Jones-Jennings of Cape Coral FL, and Viola Junck of Carroll; nieces and nephews.                                                                     
    Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ernest; sister, Mildred Sundahl; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Sundahl, Harold Thompson Sr., Howard Hesemann, Earl Jones, Elmer Jennings; and sister-in-law, Janice Engelhardt Hesemann.
