Mildred Bodlak 77 of Thurston

Mildred Bodlak 77 of Thurston, Nebraska died Wednesday September 18, 2013 at Heritage of Emerson Care Center in Emerson. Nebraska Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday September 23, 2013 at the Evangelical Covenant Church
with Pastor Dave Rusk officiating. Visitation will be prior the service. Arrangements are by Thompson Chapel Funeral Home, Wakefield, Nebraska.
Mildred Lorayne (Anderson) Bodlak was born July 28, 1936 at Wakefield, Nebraska to parents Joe and Margaret (Parson) Anderson. She graduated from Wakefield High School in 1953. Mildred married Jerry T. Bodlak on April 17, 1954 and the couple made their home at rural Thurston, Nebraska where Jerry farmed and did mechanic work. Jerry died July 4, 2012. Mildred enjoyed her garden and flower garden. She was also proud of her Westie dogs that she raised.
Mildred was a life-long member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Wakefield. She also was a Thurston Booster and a member of the Happy Hour Club.
Survivors include, sons Ken and Mary Bodlak of Doniphan, Nebraska, and Ron and Traci Bodlak of Thurston, one daughter, Jennifer and Brian Hagler of Lawton, Iowa, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Marla (Bob) Engbrecht of Marion, South Dakota and one brother-in-law, George and Sylvia Bodlak of Thurston.
She was preceded in death by husband Jerry, and two brothers; Donald Leroy (in infancy) and Robert Lee Anderson.
