Blue Devil Volleyball Takes Second At Wisner-Pilger Invite

WISNER (KTCH/KCTY) - The Wayne High volleyball team competed in the Wisner-Pilger invitational on Saturday, earning second-place honors.
To start the tournament, Wayne battled Pierce and won in three sets, 23-25, 25-10, 25-14.Lexi Sokol had 11 kills to lead the hitting attack. Wayne beat Chambers-Wheeler Central in two sets 25-13, 25-12 in the second round to advance to the finals behind six kills each from Ashton Schweers and Madison Frevert. The Blue Devils were then bested by Wisner-Pilger in the finals 29-27, 25-22. Sokol had seven kills and Schweers had six. After the tournament, Wayne is now 11-3 on the year.
