Memorial services for Elaine Pinkelman age 83 of Wayne will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne on Thursday from 5:00 p.m.- 

8:00 p.m.  with family present. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00. Private Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. She passed away Tuesday at Providence Medical Center in Wayne. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Elaine Rose Pinkelman was born October 3, 1930, in Pierce County to William and Rose (Herbolsheimer) Fredrickson.  She graduated from Wayne Prep High School and attended Wayne State College. Elaine was employed at Banker’s Life Insurance Company of Nebraska in Lincoln. On May 19, 1951, Elaine married Clifford “Pink” Pinkelman at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Lincoln.   After Cliff’s military service in the U.S. Army, they farmed northwest of Carroll for six years before moving to Wayne.  She was employed at Safeway and later Wayne Vision Center as a doctor’s assistant for over 20 years, retiring in 1992. Elaine was an active member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she served as the head of the funeral committee and was “Woman of the Year” for Northeast Nebraska  Deanery.   She  was  a  volunteer  for  numerous church and civic organizations.
    
      Elaine is survived by her five children, Doug of Plainview, Marcia (Steve) Geilenkirchen of Bailey, CO, Dan (Marion) of Jackson, Randy (Janet) of Norfolk, Peg (Kevin) Erwin of Wakefield; ten grandchildren, Stephanie, Megan, Katie, Ian, Travis, Shannon, Chad, Nikki, Tanya, CJ,  and  seven great grandchildren, Adrianna, Jadyn, Isaac, Levi, Shafer, Toby, and Emory; brother, Gene “Swede” Fredrickson of Wayne; sister, Cleone Fredrickson of Wichita, KS; nieces and nephews.
  
    Elaine was  preceded  in  death  by  her  parents,  husband Cliff in 2010; and sister-in-law, Shirley Fredrickson in 2011.
   
    Elaine’s family appreciates your thoughts and kindness and invites you to lunch in the Holy Family Hall following the service.
