NORFOLK (KTCH/KCTY) – The Wayne High football traveled to Memorial Field in Norfolk Thursday night for a matchup with Norfolk Catholic, marking the final game of the regular season.
The Knights jumped out to an early 24-0 lead going late into the second quarter. The Blue Devils got the ball with 1:31 to go before halftime starting at their own 31 yard line. A couple run plays would get up to their own 45 yard line. Not much later, Jalen Barry hit Jared Anderson for a 55-yard scoring strike, making the score 24-6. The PAT was wide left and that was the score at halftime. That would also be the only Wayne score of the game, as Norfolk Catholic went on to win 57-6. The Blue Devils end the regular season at 5-4 overall, and await the playoff announcements to find out where they will play next week.
