Blue Devils Go 2-0 At Cedar Catholic Triangular

HARTINGTON (KTCH/KCTY) - The Wayne High volleyball team competed at the Hartington Cedar Catholic triangular Friday night, going a perfect 2-0. In their first game, Wayne beat O’Neil in two sets 25-10 and 25-9. Ashton Schweers led the hitting attack with eight kills. Sydney McCorkindale had 14 set assists, along with 10 from Emma Evetovitch. Meagan Backer recorded 24 digs. In their second game, the Blue Devils beat Hartington CC in three sets, 21-25, 25-21 and 25-15. Schweers had nine kills. McCorkindale again led with assists at 20, while Evetovitch had 12. Backer had 38 digs for the Blue Devils, while Schweers had 14 and McCorkindale had 10. After the triangular, Wayne is now 20-5 on the year.
