Kansas Man Found Guilty Of Stanton Trailer Thefts

Posted: 07 November, 2013

STANTON - A 48-year-old Kansas man entered a no contest plea and was found guilty earlier this week in Stanton County District Court of Felony theft charges. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says that Kevin Mendenhall was arrested in May, along with Mark Kuehn, who escaped the Thurston County Jail in August, in the theft of two work trailers in Stanton. Kuehn was convicted for his involvement and is serving a prison sentence. Mendenhall remains in custody awaiting his sentencing early next year and faces up to 20 years in prison. A third suspect, 62-year-old Ernie Mastny of Stanton is still awaiting trial on his charges.
