WAYNE – The Wayne area chapter of Ducks Unlimited is looking to the next generation of wildlife conservationist and hunters. Greenwings, (DU youth 16 years of age and under) are able to attend the 2013 banquet for free when by an adult DU member.
Chairman Adam Dorcey of Wayne said that the Wayne Area chapter has been given a sponsor gift to support the Greenwings in the local area.
The chapter will pay for the Greenwing youth membership in DU and a meal for the first 50 to register. The banquet will be held Friday, November 15 at the Wayne National Guard Armory. A social will begin at 5:30 pm followed by dinner and auction at 7:00 pm.
Committee member Rob Bose of Emerson believes that the new generation of hunters will be the leaders of conservation in the future, and the focus on the Greenwings in the area are important to future programing and events. According to committee member Greg Urwiler of Laurel, in addition to membership and meal, all Greenwings will be entered into drawings for prizes.
Tickets are available at the door or from any DU committee member. A single membership is $40, couples at $60, Greenwings at $15 and National Sponsorship is $265. The ticket prices include dinner and annual membership in DU. This year’s banquet will include an auction of both collectible DU art and memorabilia, and other useful items for the hunter.
