Funeral services for Mabel Petersen age 90 of Wayne will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m.
– 8:00 p.m. with family present. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. Memorials may be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Wayne Senior Center. She died day Friday at Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield.

Mabel’s Family And Friends
Mabel Mary Petersen was born, April 30, 1923, on a farm near Winside in Wayne County to Frank and Sadie (Bowles) Lorenz. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Mabel attended school in the Carroll and Winside areas. The family later moved to Randolph where Mabel continued her education. She was employed at Montgomery Wards in Norfolk then at the Ordinance Plant in Grand Island. Mabel married Raymond Petersen, March 6, 1947, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Parsonage in Norfolk. The couple farmed near Pilger until moving to Wayne in 1957. Mabel worked at the El Rancho Steak House near Pilger and then Arnie’s Market in Wayne. Her next job was working as a teller at the First National Bank in Wayne for ten years, retiring in 1984. Mabel was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Church Altar Guild, and the Wayne Senior Citizen’s Center. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and being a homemaker.Mabel is survived by her husband, Raymond; two sons, Duane (Delaine) Petersen of Cedar Rapids, IA and Dale Petersen of Las Vegas, NV; two granddaughters, Michelle Petersen and Leslie Petersen; brother, Gurney (Maryann) Lorenz of Randolph; sister, Margaret Wittler of Randolph; nieces and nephews.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; four sisters; daughter-in-law, Kim; and grandson, Matthew.
Mabel’s family appreciates your thoughts and kindness and invites you to lunch in the Church Fellowship Hall following the committal service.
