Husker Women Shoot Down Penn State

LINCOLN (NRN) - Head coach Connie Yori said before the game if her team wanted any chance against 8th ranked Penn State, they would need to shoot lights out from three-point range.
Yori couldn’t have asked for a better response. The 16th ranked Husker women’s basketball team buried a season-high 16 three-pointers, including a school-record-tying seven from Tear’a Laudermill, to knock off the Nittany Lions, 94-74, Monday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Playing for a Big Monday national television audience on ESPN2, the Huskers came out strong and never let up against the Big Ten-leading Penn State. The victory puts Nebraska at 21-5 and 11-3 in conference play. NU is in the hunt along with Penn State and Michigan State for the Big Ten regular-season title. Penn State slipped to 21-6 overall and 12-3 in the conference, and Michigan State improved to 19-8 overall and 11-3 in the conference with a 74-61 win over Minnesota Monday night.
