In conference games, Spencer averaged 15.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest, ranking tied for 16th in the league in scoring and 20th in rebounding.

Spencer scored a career-high 30 points against Augustana College on November 25th and later in the same week was named Most Valuable Player at the North Star Invitational in Fairbanks, Alaska after scoring 23 points against Lees-McRae (N.C.) and 26 in the championship game against host Alaska.

Spencer helped Wayne State win a third NSIC regular season title in the last four seasons as the Wildcats finished the regular 26-3 and 19-3 in league play.
