Blue Devil Boys Down West Point-Beemer In Subdistrict Finals

OAKLAND (KTCH/KCTY) – The Wayne High boys’ basketball team punched its ticket to the C1-4 District championship on Monday with a 66-38 win over West Point-Beemer in the C1-7 Subdistrict finals from Oakland on Thursday night.
The Blue Devils put up 21 points in both the first and fourth quarter on their way to the win, while also leading 36-17 at halftime. The Cadets never got closer than 15 points in the second half. Jalen Barry again had the hot hand for Wayne, scoring 21 points, while Jared Anderson also had a solid night scoring 14 points, and Kaje Maly added 10. The Blue Devils improved their record to 22-4 overall, and will meet Norfolk Catholic in the C1-4 District Championship on Monday for a chance to go to the state tournament.
