Stepped up Enforcement Planned for St. Patrick’s Day

The Nebraska State Patrol will be conducting high visibility enforcement efforts in conjunction with the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday in an effort to crack down on the incidents of drinking and driving and to reduce the potential for alcohol related crashes.
Troopers and Communication Specialists, will be putting in overtime hours beginning Saturday, March 13, 2010 and continuing at various times and locations, through Saturday, March 20, 2010. The overtime funding is provided by a nearly $12,000 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS).
Special enforcement efforts including saturation patrols, and DUI selectives, will vary by Troop Area.
